Project started on April 1st 2024 and it lasts until the end of March 2026 (March 31st 2026). The total volume of the HUG project is 2,572 M€ and it is funded with Business Finland’s Co-Research instrument and project partners. The research orgnisations involved are VTT and GTK.
Way of working
- The siloing of WPs and over-academization can be a risk. The clear goal of the project is a high-level design concept for industrial storage and the ability to continue next to piloting.
- Building and applying selection criteria for the use cases in such a way that they appear fair to everyone.
- Flexibility to change direction. We need the agility to change the plan if needed as the project progresses (e.g., considering different structural design options).
- Boosting interaction and communication between companies and researchers.
- Fluent communication is needed between companies and research throughout the “pre-design project”: in use case selection based on selection criteria, requirement specification, concept building and iteration.
